CTM.99

1st Edition, 1999

The first club transmediale, staged in Maria am Ostbahnhof, focused on the German/Berlin-based electronic music and visual experimentation scene. CTM.99 exemplified one of the primary dimensions of the CTM mission today: to fuse the fields of electronic music, video, motion graphics, and visual art by bringing together the spheres of club culture, contemporary art, and academia. Installations and performances by artists exemplifying this approach during CTM.99 included Andreas Schimanski, Angelika Middendorf, Herwig Weiser, Christoph Musiol, and Mariza Maza.
