Lyra Pramuk cross-pollinates various genres and short-circuits boundaries; she performs live ahead of the release of her debut album. Beste Aydin, aka Nene H, collaborates with Georgia’s national choir, Ensemble Basiani, to present new work "Chela," which collapses, folds, dissolves, collides, and weaves together sonic practices both old and new. Antoine Chessex challenges, skirts around, and stretches the capabilities of the tenor saxophone with "Resounding." Raja Kirk sees the dark, nonlinear tale of the Indonesian island of Java, where every tragedy has been repeated from century to century, as a tool to examine the past and the future. Duma is a Kenyan grindcore and doom duo active at the fringes of Kenya’s metal scene; their sound is a unique blend of acid doom lyrics and polyrhythmic drum patterns. Modern Love’s Andy Stott appears following the release of his first release since 2016, It Should Be Us. Part of a new generation of Berlin techno DJs, Cera Khin and Lokier are guaranteed to deliver a raucous b2b, unleashing acid, EBM, techno, and other dirty rave sounds.

Raja Kirik is presented with Nusasonic.

ARTISTS

Ensemble Basiani[GE]

Established in 2000, Ensemble Basiani is the Georgian national choir. Georgian ancient choir music is one of the oldest traditions of such music, and its legacy is actively rekindled by the choir, which is today comprised of 16 singers from different parts of Georgia and with backgrounds in traditional folk ensembles. Through touring the world, Ensemble Basiani have raised the profile of Georgian polyphonic and folk music.

Andy Stott[UK]

Andy Stott—a name synonymous with acclaimed label Modern Love—is a producer from Manchester active since 2005. Since the release of his 2011 EP Passed Me By, Stott’s brand of dub techno has excited countless listeners worldwide, and his albums Luxury Problems and Faith In Strangers solidified his reputation as one of the UK’s most creative electronic musicians.

Cera Khin[DE]

Tunisian born, Berlin based DJ Cera Khin embodies her adopted city’s changing attitude to club music: the freedom to play whatever you want. Her voracious appetite for exploring new sounds, paired with the founding of Lazy Tapes, has also propelled her work as a producer of experimental and dark sounds.

Duma[KE]

Duma is a grindcore and doom duo working on the fringes of Kenya’s thriving metal scene. Their unique blend of acid doom lyrics and polyrhythmic drum patterns are warped into a frenzy of noise and drones in their performances.

Nene H[TR/DE]

Under her given name, Beste Aydin achieved notable acclaim as a classically trained pianist. Yet her latest project, as Nene H, sees her transform into a different creature altogether. Accessing a darker, transcendental state, Nene H creates hypnotising techno. Her mysterious yet powerfully physical sound draws on elements of drone, industrial, psychedelic, dark wave, noise, and more.

Lokier[MX/DE]

Hailing from Mexico, Lokier is an emerging voice in the global techno scene. As a DJ and producer, she draws on and weaves together everything across a spectrum of industrial, EBM, electro, minimal wave, and Italo disco. On her way to becoming a Berlin staple, she appears anywhere from squat raves to Panorama Bar.

Raja Kirik[ID]

Raja Kirik is a project by Yennu Ariendra and J. Mo'ong Santoso Pribadi. The project departs from the tale about the mythical King Menak Jinggo (the Dog King), who is at the centre of a war of narratives, and whose story is still reflected in the folk art of jaranan buto today.

Lyra Pramuk[US/DE]

Lyra Pramuk fuses classical vocalism, pop sensibilities, performance practices, and contemporary club culture in what can best be described as futurist folk music. Originally from Pennsylvania and now residing in Berlin, Pramuk is a regular collaborator of Holly Herndon, Colin Self and Donna Huanca, and is currently preparing her forthcoming debut album.

Antoine Chessex[CH]

Antoine Chessex is a Swiss composer, saxophonist, sound artist, and researcher whose works span compositions for ensembles, solo performances, sound installations, and transdisciplinary research. His works have over the years crossed boundaries between noise, modern composition, and improvisation defining an atypical path towards sonic imagination.
