22:00 Stefan Fraunberger "برزخ (Barzakh) – Hereafter / In Between"
23:15 ( SIC )
00:25 Ex Eye (Colin Stetson, Toby Summerfield, Shahzad Ismaily, Greg Fox)

Walking the line of experimental improvisation and extreme sonics, three artists evoke thrilling resonances in their search for emotional surrender.

Beastly metal force Ex Eye regroups four skilled artists playing music of crushing percussion, bleak synths and adrenaline-fuelled destruction. Comprised of saxophonist and Arcade Fire collaborator Colin Stetson, multi-instrumentalist Shahzad Ismaily, drummer Greg Fox (Liturgy, Ben Frost) and guitarist Toby Summerfield, this explosive quartet skillfully loses itself in ecstatic abandon.

( SIC ), an improvisation project by Julian Bonequi and Rodrigo Ambriz, hybridizes savage percussion and extreme vocals into spasmic states and possessive sensations. It ritualistically detonates the primitive and the ecstatic, intuition and self-induced alienation, the bold and the subtle through a series of short, explosive vignettes.

Stefan Fraunberger will open with "برزخ" (Barzakh), a project exploring the "barrier between the physical and spiritual worlds" with a booming doom of dulcimers and electronics that linger in the slowly decaying sonics of the space.

ARTISTS

Stefan Fraunberger[AT]

Stefan Fraunberger is a composer and sound performer with a special interest in transformation. His music engages in electroacoustic dialogue with unconventional instruments, such as dulcimers and decaying church organs, reshaping the liminal conditions of culture and perception while inhabiting sonic ambiguities and "touching the void." (The Wire)

( SIC )[MX]

Hailed as one of the most insane, extreme and brutal projects in the history of experimental music in Mexico, ( SIC ) is the brainchild of Julian Bonequi and Rodrigo Ambriz. Their moniker is the Latin adverb meaning “thus,” typically inserted after a quoted word or passage and indicating that the quoted matter has been transcribed exactly as found in the source text, complete with any erroneous or archaic spelling.

Ex Eye[US]

As Ex Eye, Colin Stetson, Shahzad Ismaily, Greg Fox and Toby Summerfield form an "unholy union," unleashing sonic avalanches of freeform metal and noise. Colin Stetson has a particular talent for testing the limits of human endurance. The American composer and musician has worked with everyone from Bon Iver to Tom Waits, Arcade Fire, Lou Reed and The Chemical Brothers.
