Ryoichi Kurokawa is a Japanese artist now based in Berlin. His work takes many forms, including installation, recordings, and concert pieces.
Kurokawa composes time-based sculptures using field recordings and digital structures, reconstructing various audiovisual phenomena. In recent years, his works have been shown across the world at international festivals and museums, including the UK’s TATE Modern, France’s Centre Pompidou, Italy’s Venice Biennale, and Austria’s ARS Electronica.In 2010, he was awarded the Golden Nica at Prix Ars Electronica in Digital Musics & Sound Art.
