Rosa Reitsamer

Rosa Reitsamer holds a PhD in sociology and is Associate Professor at the Department of Music Sociology at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, Austria. She has published on aspects of popular music and alternative media and gender, including work on careers of musicians and popular music histories and heritage formations in Austria.
Her publications include the monograph Die Do-It-Yourself Karrieren von DJs. Über die Arbeit in elektronischen Musikszenen (Transcript 2013), the co-edited book Musik. Gender. Difference. Intersektionale Perspektiven auf musikkulturelle Felder und Aktivitäten (2015, with Katharina Liebsch), and numerous book chapters and articles in journals such as "Keepin' it real in Central Europe: The DIY Rap Music Careers of Male Hip Hop Artists in Austria" (with Rainer Prokop), in: Cultural Sociology, Vol 12(2), 2018.
