[JP]

Rie Nakajima is a Japanese installation and performance artist, who also works with sound. Utilizing architectural spaces, Nakajima makes use of kinetic devices and found objects as compositional tools.

Nakajima has exhibited her work internationally. She worked with David Toop on Sculpture; collaborates with Keiko Yamamoto as O YAMA O, a project that explores music with no genre; and has worked with Pierre Berthet on Dead Plants/Living Objects. Nakajima first started exhibiting her work solo in 2009, with Unwind at Tokyo’s Void+. More recently, her solo exhibition Cyclic was shown at Birmingham’s IKON Gallery.
