Featuring artists drawing on influences ranging from post-internet HD sounds and abstract solipsistic composition, to black metal, big-production industrial and hypnotic shoegaze, our 23rd Polymorphism edition pairs up with Australian-based DECISIONS. Founded by Air Max ’97, the Decisions label's output thus far includes waterhouse's deeply emotional ambience, Avbvrn's textural deconstructions and Jikuroux's icy club monuments, as well as several instalments of Air Max '97's own dancefloor abstractions. Air Max ’97 will be supporting a brand new EP on the occasion that sees label collaborators Ziúr and Born in Flames, as well as electrifying Mykki Blanco collaborator, Violence, join in to make you move.

Decisions label founder Air Max ‘97 will lead the charge in support of his brand new Vessel EP (release date: 28 April), a darkly playful collection of tracks metabolize organic sounds alongside intricate percussion and scorched synthetic textures. Air Max ’97 creates oblique productions rich with atmosphere, texture and percussive energy, winning support from the likes of Total Freedom, Ben UFO, Mike Q, Lee Gamble, Objekt, M.E.S.H. and Teki Latex. A magnetic presence behind the decks, he forges sonic journeys alive with energy and dynamism. His DJ sets contrast dark and light, hypnotism and rupture, made all the more special with the inclusion of countless unreleased tracks, edits and blends.

Air Max will be accompanied by two labelmates for the occasion. The monochromatic, otherworldly and at times claustrophobic Avbvrn combines an education in digital production and composition to create music at the intersection between experimental, club, and contemporary classical music. A formidable reworker, for his debut, Self/Similarity EP he turned his editing tools on himself, with a self-reflexivity implying infinite further iterations. Jess Lavelle aka Jikuroux is a fixture in Sydney’s nightlife, running the crucial EVE club night that is sonically aligned with the larger post-internet movement often represented by collectives such as Staycore, Night Slugs and Fade to Mind. Her DJ sets and solo productions advance a fresh take on these sonics, as evident in her shredded and glistening debut EP, Ruptured Pulse. Jikuroux is busy prepping her sophomore EP, slated for release later this year.

Shirking notions of identity, Born in Flamez subvert gender and genre with a panoply of influences somewhere in the nether regions between noise, shoegaze and club not club electronics. Club sets like their notorious DJ set at Berlin ́s GEGEN series lean towards the dancefloor, fusing UK mutations of grime and house with post club experiments, plus an element of surprise. Discovered in 2014 by Modeselektor, BIF has since collaborated and released with Perera Elsewhere, Pixellord and post internet outlet WWWings on labels Infinite Machine, Monkeytown and Planet Mu. 2017 took off with the EP, Careful you might tear the sound, on Inifinite Machine and a remix for US cult noise metal band Health, with whom BIF also performed a few intense live shows.

Olin Caprison aka Violence first performed in Berlin as part of Mykki Blanco’s C-ORE tour, standing out as one of the highlights of the project which showcased black artists working with unusual influences and styles. He’s since taken his ferocious spoken word and caustic fusion of black metal, punk, and sweeping industrial into the sphere of NON Worldwide. His first release on the label, A Ruse of Power,  has been labelled as “one of NON's biggest and most out-there releases yet” (Resident Advisor). His live shows are full-on intense, deeply personal, campy and drawing from edgy yet familiar genres.

Ziúr’s “mutations blenderise hunks of techno, trance and noise... her productions sound like little else out there.” (MixMag) Her music is clearly intended for loud soundsystems (and preferably accompanied by a fog machine) but without any strict loyalty toward a certain BPM or subgenre. Working tirelessly as one of the forces behind Berlin’s BOO HOO parties, Ziúr’s fame rapidly rose following several EPs and remixes for Peaches, Air Max ’97 and Bonaventure. She was selected by Fact Mag for their “Best Club Tracks of 2016” and The Fader as one of the "Artists you Need to Know About in 2017.” Ziúr's first full-length album is scheduled for October 2017 on Planet Mu & Objects Ltd.
