February 01
Love Cult, a goth-jungle, gloom-worshipping duo from Northwest Russia, premiere the new audiovisual concert project “Nada” together with the like-minded filmmaker Alina Filippova. With abstract sounds and very straightforward images of his own home surroundings, Buttechno offers another incisive look into the current moods and worlds of Russian youth.
The MusicMakers Hacklab hosts three public talks within its headquarters at the Native Instruments Office. Today's talk with gamut inc. present their research into pre-20th Century experimental music and instruments, while on Tuesday Senyawa's Wukir Suryadi talks about his own instrument-building practice that draws inspiration for instruments that combine Javanese tradition and contemporary invention. The final talk on Thursday welcomes Native Instruments' Head of User Interface Design Gösta Wellmer. All talks take place at 17h.
This year's collaboration with RBMA begins on Thursday February 4th, with back-to-back RBMA sessions at Red Bull Studios Berlin. Host Hanna Bacher speaks to Anna Homler with Steven Warwick about their practice and music, while Aaron Gonsher interviews UK grime producer Mumdance. The sessions are open to the public and free of charge.

Daily live broadcasts with CTM 2016 artists take place from 17 - 19h at Where is Jesus in Kreuzberg. A selection of livesets will be published after the festival via NTS's soundcloud.

Akounak, a film based on Purple Rain starring tuareg singer Mdou Moctar closes out the day at Studio 1, while in the Projektraum two diffusion sessions explore current radio art.
The kinetic installation by media artist Christopher Bauder and Robert Henke (aka Monolake) runs daily until Sunday 7.2. A must-see project premiere within Kraftwerk Berlin's stunning main hall!
CTM’s presentation of Dumitrescu and Avram continues the festival’s tradition of celebrating international pioneers in experimental and electronic music. The two have long acted as central figures in the spectralist movement in contemporary composition. Sunn O))) co-founder and all-around musical trailblazer Stephen O’Malley appears as a special guest soloist with the ensemble, and also gives a special solo guitar performance as part of the evening.

Mentors from Ableton’s Sound Team will setup a three-day drop-in workshop in the Kunstquartier Bethanien's Projektraum, challenging music makers and tinkerers to explore new possibilities for interaction and interesting ways to extend music and performance. Open from Thursday 4.2. to Saturday 6.2., daily 12 - 18h, the workshop explores the Max for Live Connection Kit, a free toolkit currently under development for Ableton Live. Daily presentations will take place at 14h and 17h.
