SatOn the second stage at YAAM, Sarah Farina will be joined by a troupe of friends associated with her gregarious Through My Speakers label and collective.
Sarah Farina will proselytize for jungle, juke, hip hop, and UK Garage, Radar Bird will spread the love of "birds, machines, programs, knobs, ones, and zeros" Jamaican Yo Van Lenz will stir up things bottom-heavy, NGHT DRPS will deliver a psychedelic bass amalgamation, and Sabrina, a partnership between LeFeu and She's Drunk, will grace the dancefloor with jersey club, bmore, and grime, adding to an already wildly eventful night.
Sarah Farina is known for sprinkling positivity and joy over the darkest bassy sounds. An innovative, skillful DJ, she’s the smiling antithesis of genre cliques and scene elitists. Her sets blend bass-heavy footwork and futuristic rhythms over fearless forays through R&B and UK funky.
Through My Speakers' Radar Bird claims to be neither person nor animal; rather the self-described "primary music" project aims to dissolve the boundaries between hip hop and electronica.
NGHT DRPS unites bass-heavy electronic productions with deep and psychedelic moods, swirling together the influences of UK bass, hip hop, and juke. He DJs regularly at Through My Speakers club nights and events alongside fellow members of the Berlin-based collective, and his track "Trippy" was featured on the 2014 T.M.S compilation NURNED.01. He is currently at work on his first studio EP.
Sabrina is a French DJ duo based in Berlin and formed by She's Drunk and LeFeu. Both members of the Through My Speakers collective, She's Drunk (a.k.a. David Jesse) released his debut EP, Physical, via Liminal Sounds in 2014, while LeFeu found her way behind the decks by creating artwork for artists like Strip Steve.
While little information is available about Through My Speakers' member Yo van Lenz, his bio claims the Berlin-based producer competed for his native country of Jamaica in the 1992 Summer Olympics held in Barcelona, Spain.
