SatBerlin meets Montreal for the last of four outdoor afternoon events at Montreal’s MUTEK festival. Through its ongoing Berlin Current initiative, CTM Festival has guest curated a lineup hinting at the new sounds and emerging artists representing Berlin’s ever-changing musical landscape. Two local Montreal acts expanding the range of their own home city’s sonic landscape join in the eclectic programme.
Berlin is represented by Fluxus-inspired performance by N.M.O., amalgams of bass, trap and urban sonics from Sarah Farina and Dis Fig, and the phantasmagorical electronics of Lotic. Joining in a programme that will go on well past sunset are Montreal’s performative electro-techno duo Pelada and the trippy, melodic concoctions of Infinite Machine affiliate Toboggan.
Founded in 2013, CTM's Berlin Current initiative taps into the city’s sprawling landscape of unconventional pop and electronic music hybrids to map out its current expansion of musical diversity, and to support emerging Berlin-based acts and artists.
N.M.O are supported by the SHAPE platform, which is co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.
