FriWhen Japanese avant synth duo groupA was formed by Tommi Tokyo (synthesizer, vocals, percussion) and Sayaka Botanic (violin, synthesizer, cassette tapes) in 2012, their early shows came as a shock to most spectators . Non-stop waves of experimental noise, poetry readings and nude live-painting.
Their self-produced 1st album A was released the same year and was featured in magazines and websites such as NYLON Japan and Vice followed by their 2nd album INITIATION in 2013. The duo is continuously sharing bills with artists such as Acid Mother Temple, MERZBOW, Nisennenmondai, Phew and Melt Banana and has recently headlined "Urban Nomad Film Festival" in Taiwan, and "Art Book Fair 2014" in Tokyo.
Kathy Alberici (Small but Hard, Drum Eyes) inhabits a tingling space between noise, soundscapes, and drone. Working with strings and analogue synth, sound is manipulated, recycled, and deconstructed to reveal its many faces. From nothing comes something, the imperfections, the Dreck becoming its own musical element in a complex weave of reflexive feedback.
She is best known for her role in psychedelic doom group, Drum Eyes (Upset the Rhythm) and her work with Jan St Werner (Mouse on Mars).
Kathy Alberici is currently supported by CTM Festival's Berlin Current initiative and one of the artists featured through the SHAPE programme of the ICAS Network.
Mobiletti Giradischi is the DJ alias Remco Schuurbiers, one of the driving forces behind the CTM Festival.
