SunThe CTM afterparty, another collaboration with Red Bull Music Academy, will celebrate a jam-packed week with a combination of idiosyncratic techno and soothing house music relief.
Swedish techno guru and scene top dog Ulf Eriksson will present a DJ set presumably following the same criteria as that which he uses to curate his Kontramusik label- in his words, "musicality, originality, humanity, poetry, melody, funk, mix well." (RBMA interview)
Bristol-born, Berlin-based Palms Trax, like Eriksson an RBMA alumni, will bring his no-sweat house operation to the floor.
Ulf Eriksson[SE]
Ulf Eriksson is a seasoned DJ, Red Bull Music Academy alumnus, and the chief of highly regarded Swedish outpost Kontra-Musik. Over nearly a decade in operation, the label has built a reputation for its broad-spectrum stylistic profile, specializing in what favoured German selector Gerd Janson describes as elegant techno offset by true-school house and ambient textures.
Palms Trax[DE]
Berlin-based producer and Red Bull Music Academy Tokyo alumnus Palms Trax hails from Bristol, but his sound — characterised by rugged workouts, warm grooves, and twice-fried synths with gentle, soaring pads —s ituates him somewhere along the Chicago-Detroit axis: house music's Tigris and Euphrates.
