Audiovisual music and music videos from Central and Eastern Europe, presented by Natalie Gravenor.

The year 2014 marks a double anniversary - 25 years since the dissolution of one-party Socialist autocracy in Germany and 10 years of the European Union's expansion eastward.

Using this occasion as a point of departure, the Klipzona film and video program presents artists' explorations of music and moving image in Central and Eastern Europe from the 1960s to today via analogue and digital works encompassing experimental film, media art, music clip, demos, and VJing. While the ideas and events we commonly associate to these regions (especially before 1989) - Communism, censorship, the Cold War - come into play, the Klipzona programme at CTM 2014 seeks to introduce other variables such as technology into the conversation.

Since 2003, the Klipzona project group has collected and presented music clips and other forms of audiovisual music from Central and Eastern Europe. In addition to curating screenings, Klipzona also develops exhibitions and publications to present works in cultural and social contexts.
