Panel with Jessica Ekomane, Lucy, and !luuli. Moderated by Graham St John.

This panel brings together hypnotic techno artist and sound meditation facilitator Lucy, psycore and rave veteran !luuli, and sonic explorer and composer Jessica Ekomane. Together, they consider how rituals, substances, and modulating states of consciousness shape their artistic practices. Which philosophical, spiritual, and social traditions inform their work? What are their affordances? How does their work relate to contemporary society, and what effects do they hope to have on and beyond the individual?

Jessica Ekomane[FR/DE]

Jessica Ekomane is a French-born, Berlin-based electronic musician and sound artist. Her practice unfolds around live performances and installations. She creates situations where the sound acts as a transformative element for the space and the audience.

Graham St John[AU]

Graham St John, PhD, is a cultural anthropologist specialising in festivals, neotribes, and entheogens.

Hailing from New Mexico is !luuli, America’s rising psycore star. Earlier this year, she released The Psycore Trilogy EP1 via Texan label Absolute Shit, before contributing a production mix to Boiler Room’s Hard Dance series.

Lucy is the nom de techno of Italian-born and Berlin-based Luca Mortellaro—producer, DJ, performer, and Stroboscopic Artefacts’ curator. He has made a name for himself as one of the genre’s most exciting and ambitious artists.
