Matt Colquhoun

[UK]

Matt Colquhoun is an independent researcher, writer, and photographer from Hull, East Yorkshire. He currently lives in London and blogs as xenogothic on issues related to accelerationism and cultural production.

Since graduating from the MA Contemporary Art Theory course at Goldsmiths, University of London in 2017, he has written for the Vast Abrupt, Krisis: Journal of Contemporary Philosophy, ŠUM: Journal for Contemporary Art Criticism and Theory, Alienist Magazine, and Lapsus Lima. His first book, Egress: On Mourning, Melancholy and Mark Fisher, will be published in March 2020 by Repeater Books. It is the first book to consider the legacy and work of Mark Fisher; Egress reflects on the politics of death and community in a way that is indebted to Fisher’s own forms of cultural criticism, ruminating on personal experience in the hope of making it productively impersonal.
