Greco-Roman is a collective of musicians, DJs, and artists on the Berlin-London axis who throw speakeasy parties, run an eclectic record label, and DJ together as a Soundsystem, making colourful music, because they dance in the dark.
Hot Chip's Joe Goddard, Alexander Waldron (Boiler Room Berlin / Island / XL / !K7), and Dom Mentsh met almost 10 years ago while working at London’s Island Records. The trio started organizing warehouse-style parties, though their work eventually dropped them into different city hubs. Their Greco-Roman label became a natural extension of their friendships with the acts they supported. Inspired by ancient mythology and hedonism, its members include Disclosure, Hackman, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Roosevelt, Full Nelson, Lxury, Enchante, and Vampire Weekend's Baio.
The Greco-Roman Sound System is a DJ team led by Alex “Full Nelson” Waldron, typically playing back-to-back with any of the Greco-Roman family. The DJ squad has performed at huge festivals globally including Glastonbury, Bestival, Fabric, Big Chill, Field Day, Bloc, Calvi On The Rocks, Les Nuits Sonores, SXSW, Bugged Out!, Paris Social Club and more. The collective prides itself on its playful pop oriented dance music, electro-elements, and costumed stage personas.
