Alex “Full Nelson” Waldron is a man about the scene, pulling creative strings from his numerous angles as A&R, Label Manager, DJ/founder of the Greco-Roman collective, music consultant for XL Recordings, and co-organizer of the Berlin Boiler Room series.
Waldron met his Greco-Roman collaborators Joe Goddard and Dom Mentsh in the UK in the early 2000s while running marketing campaigns for Island Record and big clients like Blink 182, DJ Shadow, Mos Def, and more. In 2006 Waldron moved to Berlin to manage !K7 Records where his experiential roster grew in overseeing artists like Matthew Herbert and DJ Kicks. In 2007, he co-founded the Greco-Roman collective and The Greco-Roman Sound System with Goddard, forming an arsenal of pop-centric musicians.
Waldron co-curates the Berlin version of electronic hot spot Boiler Room and has recently returned to head of marketing for Island Records in London, where he will be responsible for acts such as Florence and the Machine, PJ Harvey, DIsclosure, Bombay Bicycle Club, and more. His consultancy business still entertains clients such as XL Recordings, Bugged Out! and Yell.com.
Between his heavy work and Greco-Roman commitments, Waldron also hits the slow jams with his vinyl-playing Half Nelson monicker.
