Pamela Schobeß

[DE]

Pamela Schobess studied communication sciences and has been running clubs in Berlin for almost 20 years. After she and her partner had to close the legendary Icon club in Prenzlauer Berg due to gentrification, they opened the club Gretchen in Kreuzberg.

Gretchen is located at the so-called "Dragonerareal," which is politically highly explosive. There she is the spokesperson for businesses and is committed to policy for the preservation of existing businesses in the area.

Since the end of 2016, Schobeß has also been the second chairwoman of the Berlin Clubcommission. Since 2017 she has been a member of the plenum of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Berlin, part of the supervisory board of the Berlin Music Commission, and part of the advisory board of Musicboard Berlin. In parallel to her club life, she worked in media development for several years – mainly in Africa.
