Spinning high-impact techno, house and dark electro, Copenhagen DJ Courtesy characterizes her sound as "spacecraft techno." Despite her recent rise to prevalence on the European club circuit, Najaaraq Nicoline Vestbirk is no newcomer; originally from the remote island region of Paamiut, Greenland, she's been a mainstay of Copenhagen's tight-knit underground music scene for over a decade.
In addition to working as a journalist and promoter, she's held down a residency at Copenhagen's premiere dress-to-sweat club Culture Box and a host of the RBMA Radio show Scenery, where she beams out some of the best new artists and sounds emerging from the Danish capital. An alumna of the 2014 Red Bull Music Academy in Tokyo, Courtesy is also a founding member of Aperion Crew, a four-strong techno collective that traffics in the darker strains of house, techno and electro. She established Ectotherm, a label aiming to put fellow Danish producers on the map, with fellow crewmember Mama Snake in 2016.
