Ticklish is the Berlin-based, rabbit mask-wearing producer putting a new spin on footwork and playing with everything from 90s R&B to Drake.
Following a move from Hamburg to Berlin, Ticklish hooked up with We Boogie, the Berlin crew specialising in boogie, funk, soul, and R&B. In 2013, he dropped the first installment in his Reboots series of edits, "celebrating covered and uncovered R&B gems," juke, footwork, and bass. He's also released a handful of EPs; 2014's One Day was billed as "lush synth harmonies and smooth melodies with playful jungle and footwork rhythms, creating sexy, atmospheric love songs with a touch of rave nostalgia." Most recently, Ticklish partnered with B-Ju on Dualities, a six-track cassette spanning footwork, jungle, and other hybrid forms of dance music, which was released on Druid Cloak‘s Apothecary Compositions label. He's also teamed up again with Teklife's DJ Paypal on a rework of Drake's "Worst Behavior," which appeared on Paypal's collection of Drake edits, and he features on an upcoming UK compilation, Reload.
