Marcin Pietruszewski is a Polish composer currently based in Edinburgh. He works largely with synthetic sound and uses compositional techniques developed in contemporary electroacoustic and computer music. He also engages with non-musical disciplines such as computational linguistics, mathematics, dance or design.
He works independently and in collaboration with artists such as Marcus Schmickler, Florian Hecker, Jules Rawlinson, Lauren Sarah Hayes, and BOAR collective. His sound piece and radio play for CTM 2016, “(dia)grammatology of space”, consists of a series of exploratory articulations between multilingual libretto, mechanical speech analysis/re-synthesis, and computer music. Its conceptual point of departure is an original libretto text written by Helen Hester and Katrina Burch from the Laboria Cubonics Collective and Virginia Barratt of VNSMatrix.
