Gesloten Cirkel

[INT]

Very little is known about the producer behind Gesloten Cirkel's skewed electro and EBM; save for a handful of DJ sets, he has remained shrouded in anonymity for the entirety of his career.

Gesloten Cirkel first surfaced back in 2009 with a 12-inch on Murder Capital, the Dutch outlet headed by I-f. The label had lain dormant since 2001, but according to popular legend, the veteran DJ and producer brought it back to life for the sole purpose of releasing Gesloten Cirkel's music. Indeed, that eponymous first EP and subsequent releases on Moustache Techno and Berceuse Heroique showed a clear bloodline to the acid and electro championed by The Bunker in The Hague. Tracks featuring big riffs and squelchy, distorted acid lines have been rinsed by favoured selectors like Levon Vincent and Ben UFO, but if any of Gesloten Cirkel's admirers have any clue as to the creator's origins, they're not saying. His appearance at CTM 2016 marks a rare opportunity to glimpse the man behind the mask.
