The Berlin-based Gebrüder Teichmann are the two brothers Andi and Hannes Teichmann, who work as musicians, DJs, producers and cultural activists. Their work is not limited by traditional borders between styles or genres.
The brothers use their musical and cultural projects to find new ways to build bridges. Gebrüder Teichmann started becoming involved with music in 1989 at the age of 9 and 12 years, respectively. Their punk band Totalschaden preceded their discovery of electronic music in the mid-1990s. Over the years, they have collaborated on projects in styles from hip-hop to classical music, from traditional to experimental. They have released on various labels and run their own electro label Festplatten, both together and solo. Since 2009 they have developed various intercultural projects like BLNRB and TEN CITIES with the Goethe-Institut Kenya, Mondmaschine with Goethe Mexico and Khan of Finnland, and the Karachi Soundcamp together with Goethe Pakistan and the Forever South Crew. Their diverse musical activities have taken them to over sixty countries, including Afghanistan, Honduras and Angola.
