The Berlin-based gamut inc is an interdisciplinary ensemble founded in 2011 by computer musician and architect Marion Wörle and experimental composer Maciej Sledziecki. The ensemble is conceived around the construction of pre-modern instruments and the control of these instruments by recent technologies, resulting in an aesthetic that bridges the very old and the very new.

gamut inc is made up of human musicians as well as a growing number of autonomous music robots built as amalgams of archaic sound-making models and activated using a computer. Wörle and Sledziecki utilize live-generated music scores to enable different levels of composition and live improvisation between the machines, electronic sounds and "real" musicians. Some of their century-spanning hybrid creations include a motorised electromagnetic plucked banjo, an automated physharmonica, an electromagnetic monochord, and an automated carillon. Their recent projects include a music theatre piece, “One More Pioneer”, about the relationship between humans and technology, and “Avant Avant Garde”, an international festival dedicated to experimental music before the 20th century. The ensemble’s 6-channel performance “Compression” was developed for automated carillons, live-spatialisation, clarinet and percussion for the Signs of Music Festival. Their project “Perspektiven/Perspektywy”, performed in both Poland and Germany, was a homage to the Polish Radio Experimental Studio and the electronic studio of the WDR.

gamut inc’s first release, Ex Machina, was released on vinyl in January 2015.
