Milan-born Alessandro Bosetti is a composer, performer and sound artist whose works explore the musicality of spoken language and utilize misunderstandings, translations and interviews as compositional tools. His works for voice and electronics blur the lines between electro acoustic composition, aural writing and performance. He is currently based in Marseille, where he was an artist-in-residence at the GMEM Centre National de Création Musicale for 2014 and 2015.
As a concert composer, Bosetti has recently written for ensembles such as Kammerensemble Neue Musik and Die Maulwerker in Berlin, the Janacek Opera house in Brno and and the Neue Vokalsolisten Stuttgart. In 2009, he started exploring repetitive speech-loop forms with his ensemble Trophies, drummer Tony Buck and fretless guitarist Kenta Nagai. Trophies has released three CDs and tours regularly. Further ongoing collaborations are with pianist Chris Abrahams (The Necks) as well as composer/vocalists Jennifer Walshe and Tomomi Adachi. Bosetti has published more than ten CDs under his own name on labels like Errant Bodies Press, Monotype, Rossbin and Sedimenta. He is guest professor of experimental radio at Bauhaus Universität in Weimar.
