Front de Cadeaux[BE]

Spinning the wrong speed to hit all the right spots – Brilliantly named after the Belgian EBM pioneer group FRONT 242, Belgo-Italian producers Hugosan & DJ Athome have coined their own distinct druggy, slow, and dubby sound by playing specially selected 12-inch 45s at 33 rpm.

The two started spinning records around 20 years ago and have been throwing parties and producing for many years as well. Maurizio (DJ Athome) has been playing Italo-wave and house since the 90s. He has also run a radio show called Brussels Alternative Show on Radio Panik since 1996 and is signed on both Pneu Records and Palais Chalet. When he’s not on the decks Maurizio works as a psychologist. Hugosan co-runs Roccodisco, the label Front de Cadeaux releases on, and has made music his lifeblood. When he’s not laying down thick and grimy beats as F2C, he’s off throwing parties in Rome or working his side project, Alien Alien, with Italo disco mastermind Rodion, co-runner of Roccodisco.

F2C boast three successful EPs; Le PédéBPM (2014), Infodrogue (2015) and The Gift (2016). The two have also done mixes and podcasts for Honey Soundsystem, Les Yeux Oranges, and The Word Magazine. Their self-edited, slow-acid/techno/house beats are one of a kind and demand dance floor attention.
