The experimental electronic music festival "Unsound x CTM Dislocation: Vladivostok" takes place on 15-17 September within the framework of the 14th edition of the "Pacific Meridian" International film festival. Renowned international musicians and djs appear with local scene representatives throughout the program. A press conference with organisers and artists will be held on the first festival day.

Unsound and CTM Berlin have worked together over many years on a number of projects. Now they join forces once again, to present a program of A/V shows and club music within the framework of Pacific Meridian, the international film festival of Asian-Pacific Countries in Vladivostok. Taking place between the 15th to 17th of September, this program is produced with the support of the Goethe-Institut Novosibirsk and the Berlin Musicboard. It is part of the Unsound Dislocation project, taking place in a number of cities in Russia, Central Asia and The Caucasus between 2016 and 2018, and also a continuation of the artistic exchanges with the eastern regions of Russia begun by CTM in 2015 with the CTM Siberia festival.

The event's opening day features a premiere performance by London artist Helm called "Inner Space: Siberia", created alongside the Embassy for the Displaced (Greek architect Stefanos Levidis and actress Sofia Georgovassili) and Russian musician Moa Pillar. This work was originally conceived by Helm during journeys throughout Siberia by train, which affected his perception of time and continuous movement. Helm and EFTD will displace themselves from regular practice and familiarity to explore spaces within Siberia. Working with personally sourced audio and film, including footage shot in and around Novosibirsk and the Altai Mountains, the project attempts to dislocate and abstract the original material from its sources, yet retains the intention to create a portrayal of the geographical properties of the region through texture, space and motion.

Buttechno (Pavel Milyakov), one of the leading voices in Moscow's rising underground scene, will also perform on the first day at the open cinema on the Sportivnaya embankment. He presents his live A/V show exploring boredom, frustration, and latent aggression. With abstract sounds and very straightforward images of his own home surroundings, the Moscow based artist offers an incisive look into the current moods and worlds of Russian youth.

The second day of the festival will feature "7 Films by Vincent Moon" - a live project by Rabih Beaini that sees him explore the intersection between film and experimental music. Starting with a collection of some of his favorite works by acclaimed French filmmaker Vincent Moon, Beaini revisits the documentary footage on the basis of its captivating audio tracks, editing them live into a kind of audiovisual mixtape. By adding his signature analog electronics to the original film sound, Beaini successfully carves a new evocative form and narrative from the combination of both sources. The "7 Films by Vincent Moon" project was commissioned by Live Soundtracks for an event at the Hiroshima Theater in Barcelona in March 2016.

Alongside these A/V shows, club music programs bring together Berlin-based expatriate artists with local DJs and musicians. Originally from the U.S., Laurel Halo is an electronic musician whose music explores experimental forms of techno, hybrid rhythms and bass. She release on Hyperdub and Honest Jon's. Lotic is also originally from the U.S. His music works against the expected conception of Berlin techno and house, deconstructing club music and R&B tropes to build new forms of post-genre music. Russian artists include the aforementioned Buttechno and Moa Pillar, both playing live shows, as well as sets from Vladivostok DJs: Soong Reader, Nemtin, Apapr, Optic, Workpop and Deephead.
