CTM ventures into the virtual for the first time, via a new collaboration with Minecraft venue Club Matryoshka. Welcoming a series of singular club voices including Aquarian, Badsista, Hyph11E, Moesha13, quest?onmarc, and Slikback, the night explores new modes of listening, connecting, and being together even as clubs and venues remain closed. Pre-registration to participate in the Minecraft world is open until 12 August, and a livestream via Twitch will be announced on the day of the event: August 15th.

Like the rest of the world, CTM is currently embroiled in efforts to keep our audience, artists, and team safe and healthy, while also looking ahead at an unpredictable future. While the scope and format of our 22nd festival edition are uncertain, we are steadily navigating the context of changing restrictions, possible future regulations, and new foreseeable challenges in order to respond with experimentation, creativity, and reflection. The festival’s dates remain set at 22–31 January 2021, though please note that it’s possible that the festival will be extended over a longer period of time, flowing into February, depending on the kinds of conditions and constraints that might arise and influence the kinds of presentation formats allowed in early 2021.

CTM and friends are producing reusable fabric masks using leftover merchandise from the festival. The masks contain two layers of polypropylene lining, and can be shipped throughout Europe. All proceeds go to the anti-racist, anti-fascist charity Welcome United.
