Talia Vega León is co-director and co-curator of Radical Sounds Latin America, an online platform and festival based in Berlin that explores cutting-edge Latin American music being produced within Europe and beyond. Its aim is to create a continuous, open dialogue surrounding the topic of migration, by generating a space both online and offline for those who use music as a tool to question ideas of identity and belonging.

Before relocating to Berlin, she worked as a Cultural Manager for local governments in Lima, Peru from 2012-2018. Her focus was on designing projects that focus on identity, community cohesion, and the recovery and transformation of public space through music and the arts. Her work in the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima and the Municipality of San Isidro is recognised by Ciudadanos al Día for successfully working towards citizen well-being through innovative projects developed within public entities.

From 2015-2018 she conceptualised and curated the city-organized Festival Cultura Libre, until now the only international, free, and open-air music festival lead by a local government in Lima. In 2018 the festival was named among the top festivals in Peru by local media. Maria Landó, Peru’s only online feminist music platform, named el Festival Cultura Libre in the forefront of music and gender equality.

In parallel she performed as one of the voices of rap group Menores, and promoted Lima’s underground art and music scene.
