SatBerlin community space and ongoing party series hoe_mies take over one of the floors at YAAM with their crew of female, non-binary, and trans artists that fight for better representation in the hip hop scene. Combining 90s and 00s hip hop, R&B, trap, baile funk, dancehall, reggaeton and more, hoe_mies also welcome Hengameh Yaghoobifarah aka kos_mic q’andi, who fuses diasporic yearnings with the nostalgia of MTV youth and current queer sounds.
Hengameh Yaghoobifarah aka kos_mic q'andi is a Berlin-based journalist, blogger, speaker, DJ, and editor for the German feminist publication Missy Magazine. Most of their work evolves around popular culture, fashion, gender and queerness, social media, body politics, post-colonial and post-migrant realities, hybrid identities, visual culture, and the aesthetic of the Other.
Hoe__mies is a hip hop party series and community space that provides a platform for female, non-binary, and transgender artists and celebrates their presence in hip-hop in order to counteract marginalisation within that scene. Its dancefloors boast a colourful mix of 90s & 00s hip hop and RnB, trap, baile funk, dancehall, reggaeton, and more.
