The MusicMakers Hacklab is a week-long open, collaborative laboratory hosted by Peter Kirn of Create Digital Music and artist/computer scientist Ioann Maria.

Can artists help calm some of our fears by hacking or transforming AI technology into something more open and transparent? For this year's MusicMakers Hacklab, participants are invited to invent collaborative performances that embrace the chaos, strangeness, and cultural anxiety surrounding the theme of AI, echoing the titular Turmoil of this CTM festival edition.

The Hacklab opens its 6th edition within the CTM Festival with live performances by this year's invited host Ioann Maria, and Peter Kirn.

The CTM 2018 MusicMakers Hacklab is created in collaboration with CDM, and supported by Native Instruments and the SHAPE platform, which is co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.
