CTM’s 21st edition launches with an announcement of new performances, special projects, and commissioned works. Combining unique productions, concerts, and club nights with a dense daytime programme of talks, discussions, installations, and an exhibition, CTM 2020 proposes multiple entry points into thinking about this year’s Liminal theme.

As always, CTM Festival will combine first-hand experience and critical reflection in a programme housed at various Berlin venues including new partners radialsystem and silent green’s Betonhalle, while continuing its close relationship with HAU Hebbel am Ufer, Berghain, Kunstquartier Bethanien, Festsaal Kreuzberg, and SchwuZ. Club events and concerts will be complemented by wide-ranging discourse and debate via daytime lectures and artist talks, a Hacklab, the CTM Exhibition, and more.

The third wave of artists and projects has now been announced, along with Interstitial Spaces, the CTM 2020 exhibition; a spatial sound installation at Berlin's Botanic Garden; a special partner programme at the Hamburger Bahnhof; and first Discourse programme previews. CTM 2020 welcomes live performances by Andy Stott, Teto Preto, Rakta, and Lafawndah; a collaboration with Nyege Nyege festival that brings the likes of MC Yallah & Debmaster, DJ Diaki, Hibotep, and Catu Diosis to Berlin; a night at Berghain co-curated with transmediale featuring a special commission by Patiño & Schuttel, live sets by emptyset and xin, as well as hybrid performances by Demystification Committee, Johanna Bruckner, and Wesley Goatley; and local highlights such as collaborations with Berlin-based projects Selam X (who collaborate with Hong Kong collective Absurd Trax), Ghettoraid, and Amplify. A range of CTM festival passes and tickets are now on sale, and a day-by-day programme preview is also available now.

CTM will take place parallel to and in collaboration with transmediale – festival for art and digital culture. In the weeks before the two festivals, the Vorspiel programme will unite Berlin-based initiatives and venues in creating a city-wide programme of exhibitions, performances, artist talks and more
