CTM festival's 19th edition will take place from 26 January to 4 February 2018 at various Berlin venues, some of them new and others seasoned veterans like Berghain, HAU Hebbel am Ufer and Kunstquartier Bethanien.

Under the title TURMOIL, CTM 2018 will examine the state of music and sound practice in the face of a confusing and critical present. What is the sound of turmoil? What is an aesthetic of tumult? Is answering the world’s turmoil with aesthetic turmoil our only viable strategy? How can music in the year 2018 express protest and formulate new futures, both personal and political? The festival's format complements club events and concerts with daytime offerings of broad-ranging discourse and debate.

As always, the CTM Festival will take place parallel to and in collaboration with transmediale – festival for art and digital culture, which in 2018 will be exploring the 'face value' theme.
