Active as a DJ since his teens, Conor Thomas worked behind the counter at Pelicanneck records and subsequently for one of the world's leading independent music specialists, Boomkat.com, for most of the past decade.
A steadfast force in Manchester's musical ecology since 2004, he started the legendary Ploy and Faktion events hosting innovative and forward-thinking electronic live acts and DJs ranging from Omar Souleyman to Convextion, Shangaan Electro to Julia Holter, Hieroglyphic Being to Shackleton. Thomas has been gigging between Berlin, London, and Manchester under various monikers, most notably for the Blackest Ever Black events and numerous Unknown To The Unknown raves. In 2012 he co-founded the enigmatic The Death Of Rave label with releases by Mark Leckey and Powell, and also A&Rs for Boomkat Editions.
