A renewed initiative co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union, the SHAPE platform reunites 16 European non-profit organisations active within the ICAS – International Cities of Advanced Sound network to create a platform that aims to support, promote and exchange innovative and aspiring emergent musicians and interdisciplinary artists with an interest in sound. The organisation supported a total of 144 artists for three years from 2015 to 2017 and has been renewed for another four years starting in 2018.
SHAPE presents its fourth year at CTM 2018 with the Network Speed Dating event, which assembles a selection of SHAPE platform organisers alongside curators and organisers from other events and networks, to meet in short, one-on-one sessions with pre-registered participants. This is a great chance to present your work and to find out more about the diverse festivals and events that collaborate to make SHAPE happen!
Public sessions at the MusicMakers Hacklab round out the SHAPE platform's involvement in the CTM 2018 Discourse programme.
SHAPE Artists at CTM 2018
CTM 2018 will also feature performances by a wealth of different SHAPE-supported artists over its ten-day schedule of events: Turkish experimenter Nene H, who infuses folk elements into contemporary techno hybrids; Berlin "techno body music" source Schwefelgelb; extreme primordial noise duo NAKED; American solo artist Swan Meat, who uses spoken word, noisy sonics, and eerie processed vocals to externalise an inspired world of feeling; Berlin-based Spanish sound artist and versatile DJ JASSS, and Polish producer/DJ Olivia, who communicates starry futurist leanings through fluid sets.
The SHAPE platform is co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.
