Hailing from Shanghai is the exhilarating young producer, Hyph11e. Affiliated with the Shanghai staple Genome 6.66 Mbp (the collective responsible for releasing music from the likes of Rui Ho, Wa?ste and Dirty K), she was featured on their first compilation in 2016 with track “叶子”.

After quitting her day job to pursue music full-time, Hyph11e released her debut EP in 2017. Vanishing Cinema arrived via another Shanghai imprint SVBKVLT, and features remixes from Tzusing, M.E.S.H. and Kid Antoine. The bass-heavy EP boasts dark, formidable sound design arranged into hard-hitting club rhythms, and is an exciting signal of the emerging, vibrant Shanghai club scene. Described as the epitome of the Shanghai sound (AQNB), her thrilling, dystopic music is well suited for fans of Janus, Bala Club and other hard, deconstructed club sounds. Hyph11e has appeared on Genome 6.66 Mbp’s Radar Radio show, as well as Berlin’s own Call Dibs on BCR, has played in clubs such as Shanghai’s ALL and supported artists such as Goth-Trad.
