Aden Evens is Associate Professor of English and Creative Writing at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, USA. His research, teaching, and free time are devoted to music, philosophy, mathematics, and digital culture.
In the early 2000s, Aden released two records of electroacoustic music under the project name re:. on the Montréal-based record label, Constellation. Around that time, Aden also wrote a monograph, Sound Ideas: Music, Machines, and Experience, published by University of Minnesota Press in 2005. And after a decade of fighting with the material, he produced a second book, Logic of the Digital, published by Bloomsbury Academic in 2016.
Aden sometimes experiences the paranoia of wondering whether he is the only one who suspects that digital technology may be robbing us of a crucial humanity, but the latest release of Assassin's Creed for the PS4 serves to distract him from those worries.
