Johannes Schroth

[DE]

Johannes Schroth was born in former West-Berlin, growing up with omnipresent american military, CIA spy antennas, Skateboarding und punk culture. When the wall came down Johannes became part of the Berlin hip-hop scene infamous for its graffiti crews and hip-hop jams.

In 1996, he founded rap band MOR with Kool Savas and Justus Jonas under his Fumanschu moniker, releasing the classic Berlin rap album, MOR-NLP in 2001. Schroth followed-up with a solo album two years later, titled Funky adventures of Fumanschu.

Johannes's focus later shifted towards design, and he pursued an Industrial Design Education at the University of Applied Science Potsdam. At the same time began his lively relationship with Adidas Originals, leading to campaign work, storefront design and the creation of an artist space for international street artists, curated and led by Johannes in 2006. After finishing his diploma in 2011 Johannes started working with Native Instruments, fusing his passions music and design. His current work focuses mainly on Maschine Products like the recently launched Maschine Jam.
