Dragoș Rusu has been a constant presence in Bucharest’s underground music scene for over a decade now. A DJ, journalist and music adventurer, he is the co-founder and editor in chief of The Attic Magazine, an online music platform that covers a wide variety of music and investigates cultures from all over the world.
Dragoș’s radio show on the cult Dutch station Intergalactic FM showcases a comprehensive pick of local talents as well as renowned international guests such as Mick Wills, Lena Willikens, Broken English Club and Booty Carrell. His musical approach knows no boundaries of genre, style, time or space—he’s been spotted playing hard, textural techno and acid house as well as intriguing outernational oddities, African, Greek, Turkish, Arabic rhythms and the occasional contemporary gypsy music.
Since 2016 Dragoș has been the artistic director and curator of the Bucharest-based Outernational Days, an annual multicultural festival of music and related arts that digs deep into various subcultures positioned at the periphery of the international sphere. Besides running The Attic platform, Dragoș is resident DJ and event promoter of the new Bucharest club Kran. In past years, Dragoș coordinated several projects such as Beat Factor, an online electronic music magazine, and was a resident and event promoter at Control Club, one of the most important alternative music clubs in Bucharest.
