Lukasz Żywna is a music lover and occasional talent scout and event organiser for PIP Den Haag. He explores the deeper and harder realms of techno. Confined to a wheelchair and with a limited range of movements, Żywna uses a controller specially developed at De Zolderkamer at The Hague's Club Pip and a midi-controller developed at STEIM in Amsterdam.
STEIM has been working together with the health care organization Vanboeijen for a few years now to create electronic instrument kits for people with multiple disabilities. The goal was to give these people control over making music and help them have fun in the process. Kassen, a DJ, performer, programmer and Creme Organization affiliate, adapted the code and sound of one of the midi controllers to suit the club environment with the help of artist-developer Marije Baalman, allowing Lukasz to play unique melodies and beats. Together the group address the design norms of the technology industry and shed light on the inherent limits for nonstandard instrument users.
Kassen will provide DJ support for the performance.
