Volte-Face[UK]

Volte-Face is Casper Clark incarnate: a DJ, promoter, inchoate producer, and the driving force behind London's experimental electronic music event series BleeD.

Identifying primarily as a freelance curator, Clark has been affiliated with London clubbing institution Fabric since 2006, building chops further still as an event programmer for Field Day, Austria's Donau Festival, and Unsound, and staging regular takeovers at the experimental hive of Cafe Oto. However, he's arguably best known as the face of BleeD, where bookings tend to favour artists with affinities for dark industrials, and where the resultant "jarring" or confrontational sounds don't necessarily lend themselves to dancing. (Among many producers represented at BleeD are Regis and Surgeon of the now-retired British Murder Boys, Oni Ayhun, Laurel Halo, Ben UFO b2b Morphosis, Demdike Stare, Charles Cohen, Emeralds, the White Material crew, Kassem Mosse, Bee Mask, and Hieroglyphic Being.) Clark also hosts a regular BleeD spot on former pirate radio station RinseFM, and helms the 'Experimental' section of 22Tracks.

Following a recent appearance as a DJ for Daniel Avery's Divided Love Fabric residency (in the company of Factory Floor, Helena Hauff, and Dopplereffekt), a Volte-Face remix of Avery's "Platform Zero" was released on Erol Alkan's Phantasy label in 2014.
