Nora Khan[US]

Nora Khan is a writer and currently a research resident within Eyebeam’s Research Residency until October 2017. She is contributing editor at Rhizome, based out of the New Museum, and a recipient of the Thoma Foundation 2016 Arts Writing Award in Digital Art for an emerging arts writer, awarded by the Carl & Marilynn Thoma Art Foundation.

Khan writes fiction and creative non-fiction about digital visual culture, artificial intelligence, electronic music, and games, to name a few interests. She has published in Rhizome, Art in America, California Sunday, The Village Voice, aCCeSsions, POSTmatter, After Us, Ran Dian, AVANT, and Kill Screen. She also published fiction in Conjunctions, American Literary Review, DIS Magazine, and Hunger Mountain.

Nora recently spoke at the Whitney about Ian Cheng’s live simulations as part of New Ways to See: Digital Art Criticism Now. At New Museum, she helped produce and moderate Together in Electric Dreams, a session on the present and future of artificial intelligence within Open Score, an art and technology symposium. She has talked at Printed Matter for the launch of Morehshin Allahyari’s 3D Additivist Cookbook, alongside Paul Soulellis, and at the Guggenheim, for the Åzone Futures Summit.

In 2017 she will host a series of discussions at Eyebeam.
