Nguyễn Baly is a sound and performance artist with a Vietnamese-German diasporic background based in Berlin. They interrogate gender, intersectional-feminism, and postcolonial discourses through sound and performance.

Nguyễn explores postcolonial and queer approaches to synthesis, noise, and rhythm. They collaborate with noise artist Tara Transitory as Nguyễn + Transitory. Together, the two look into queer realities in the Vietnamese and Southeast Asian diaspora, focusing in particular on non-academic studies and lived experiences. Their output includes a live scoring of Kenneth Anger’s Lucifer Rising (Lava Film Festival, Krakow, Poland) and a live performance at the opening of A Beast, a God, and a Line (Museum of Modern Art, Warsaw, Poland). For CTM 2019, they will present their collaborative piece "Bird Bird, Touch Touch, Sing Sing" at HAU 2.

Working at the intersection of sound and performance, Nguyễn has collaborated with Anna Geist, Elisabeth Hampe, Katharina Hauke, and Anh Trieu, among others.
