Natalie Gravenor[DE]

Natalie Gravenor is a curator, screenwriter, film editor, TV programme planner, and a freelance author for Moving Pictures Berlinale, Screen International, The Wire, and Time Out Guide Berlin.

Born in 1968 in Oakland, US, she completed her elementary and high school education in Berlin. She holds a degree in Mass Communication from the Berlin University of the Arts. Her first experience in media production was through a student video magazine, the production of short films and videos, and as an editorial/production assistant for the English language political and cultural magazine "Special Edition", broadcast  on Fernsehen aus Berlin (FAB). She is a programme planner (feature film acquisition, program development) at IA Fernsehen. She wrote and produced a 90-minute youth show about the history of hip-hop, and 20 episodes of a thematically and artist-based music clip show. She is also a segment producer for a magazine format reporting from the East Berlin districts.

She is the co-director (with Gloriana Selvanathan), screenwriter, and editor of cultural documentaries A Thirst for Life and Stefan Norby.

She is the curator of the "Klipzona – Music Videos from Eastern Europe" archival programs at b.film*digital vision festival Berlin (which travelled to CTM Festival, Berlin; Astigmatic Kino Plock, Poland; Grezlandfilmtage Selb, Germany; Exground Filmfestival, Wiesbaden; VideoEX, Zurich, and other festivals).

Since 2004, she has served as project coordinator for One World Berlin Edition Human Rights Media Festival, a curator/programmer for EYZ Media, acquisitions, project development, operation of the streaming platform realeyz.tv, and educational rights online platform realeyz.tv E-Learning.
