Working with the local identities of music, sound environments, and geographically-shaped music practices, Rodriguez’ work combines elaborate synthesis and field recording. Rodriguez develops realities from natural phenomena, cultural/instrumental environments, and social connotations associated with sound production. Throughout her practice, she balances deliberate processes of construction with spontaneity, combining exactly formulated parts with the space for flexibility and emergence.

In 2005, she founded the ensemble Les Femmes Savantes, a collaboration between artists of various genres and media, including Melita Dahl, Andreas Köpnick, Joanna Rajkowska, Steffi Weisman, and Ron Winkler. Since 2015, Rodriguez has been collaborating with Belgian director Ingrid von Wantoch Rekowski and stage designer Fred Pommerehn on the project "Das Stereoskop der Einzelgänger,” which has been installed in Reims, Marseille, Berlin, and Hannover.

2015 and 2016 saw her develop a new work in Chennai (South-East Indies) for European and Indian musicians. She took part in the Querklang project of UdK, and in the Open Your Ears project of the Konzerthaus Berlin. She has contributed to numerous publications and seminors on the topic of music and technology, and has been invited to festivals such as Brückenmusik Köln, Chiffren-Biennale Kiel, MaerzMusik-Festival für Zeitfragen Berlin, and more.

For CTM 2020, Ana Maria Rodriguez contributes to “Drops and Seeds,” a collaboration with Prumsodun Ok & NATYARASA, Ensemble KNM, and Fred Pomerrehn.
