The city-wide Vorspiel unites over 30 Berlin-based initiatives and venues in presenting a series of exhibition openings, performances, interventions, artist talks, and special events. The programmes Opening on Friday 15th January features performances and DJ sets, installations, artist talks, panels and more.
January 14
The Research Networking Day is a yearly CTM festival initiative that provides a platform to exchange ideas and experiences for students and researchers from different European graduate and postgraduate programmes traversing the fields of audio, arts, media, design and related theoretical disciplines. For 2016, the focus turns to the realm of sound art as local and international students and practitioners discuss geography, culture, sound, language and site-specificity. The programme is rounded-out with an opening keynote address from artists and curators Julia Eckhardt, Eric Mattson and Carsten Stabenow.

A limited number of regular CTM 2016 Passes, and Connect Passes that give access to both CTM and transmediale 2016 remain available. Tickets to individual events are also on sale.
January 05
Presented within CTM Festival 2016 in collaboration with Kraftwerk Berlin, Deep Web is a kinetic audiovisual installation and performance by light artist Christopher Bauder, and audiovisual composer and producer Robert Henke. The spectacular installation runs daily 2 – 7 February, with a final performance on CTM's final evening.
January 18
After Pauline Oliveros’s initiative, she and her partner and collaborator Ione offer a 1 hour long benefit event during CTM 2016, dedicated to the philosophy and practice of Deep Listening. All proceeds will be donated to the emergency refugee shelter at the Turnhalle of the Hector-Peterson-Schule, which neighbors the HAU3 in Kreuzberg.

The 2016 Discourse programme was developed with numerous partners. Together with Norient, certain modules present a range of contributors to the "Seismographic Sounds. Visions of a New World" exhibition presented within the festival, including Adam Harper, Meira Asher, Chris Saunders, Fokn Bois, Wendy Hsu, Sarah Abunama-Elgadi and many more. Invaluable contributions from the Humboldt University's Chair of Trans-cultural Musicology, DAAD, and Deutschlandradio Kultur/Klangkunst complete the programme, which runs from 30.1. - 6.2.2016 daily at the Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien.

On Thursday 4 February, artists and professionals (visual artists, performers, musicians, sound art producers, designers, etc) and any interested members of the public have a chance to meet and present their work to organisations and festivals collaborating within diverse European network initiatives. Participation is based on pre-registration, and space is limited.
January 27
CTM is a member of several international networks that taken together regroup over 50 independent festivals and organisations with the goal to support artistic work and research as well as artists on local and international levels. The Meet & Greet for Collaborative Networks on Thursday 4 February offers a chance for artists, curators and the public to meet with three of these networks, involved respectively in promoting emerging artists, audiovisual production, and sound art residencies.
