The 15th anniversary edition of CTM – Festival for Adventurous Music and Arts – will take place January 24 – February 2, 2014 in different venues across Berlin, including the HAU – Hebbel am Ufer, Berghain, Stattbad, and the Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien.

Berlin Current artists Olle Holmberg (aka Moon Wheel) and Kobosil are featured in the most recent editions of the Im Fokus radio show from BLN.FM.
August 28
Berlin Current – A new initiative from CTM and partners presenting young, unconventional, and experimental pop music from Berlin. As part of the programme, two artistic commissions will be awarded to young Berlin-based musicians. Selected projects will have a budget of 2500 EUR and will be presented at CTM.14 Festival (January 24 – February 2, 2014). Artists will be mentored during the production phase by Berlin musician and producer, Stefan Betke (Pole).

Awarded by Deutschlandradio Kultur/Klangkunst, Goethe-Institut, ICAS – International Cities for Advanced Sound, ECAS – European Cities for Advanced Sound, and CTM festival, the “Ubiquitous Art and Sound” Open Call for works sought unusual ideas for pairing the specific artistic possibilities of radio with the potentials of live performance or installation, that also explores the omnipresence of sound in our everyday lives.

Longtime collaborators CTM – Festival for Adventurous Art (Berlin) and Skaņu Mežs (Riga) present a showcase that gives a first glimpse into CTM’s current Dis Continuity project. Celebrated 20th century minimalist composer Phill Niblock is joined by Stephan Mathieu, a creator of digital minimalist soundscapes and compositions, and KTL, the long-running collaboration between guitarist Stephen O'Malley of Sunn O))) and Peter Rehberg.

The new sound of the city – Berlin Current presents young, unconventional, and experimental pop music from Berlin. Following an Open Call for Proposals, two winning projects will be premiered at CTM 2014 as an ongoing part of the Berlin Current project.
