What is the role of artists and producers in shaping the future of artificial intelligence in the world? Creative director and curator Estela Oliva joins this year’s Hacklab Inputs programme to talk about this and other creative interventions in machine learning. The 2018 Hacklab mounts a response to artificial intelligence and data culture.

This session will explore some of the common questions and challenges posed by practitioners working in machine learning and related practices. It will offer a deep dive into a selection of innovative artistic projects, which are offering alternative ways to view and interpret human beings and the world around us. The session will conclude by reflecting and debating on the responsibility of and the implications for those involved in the making of these technologies.
