coucou chloe is a London-based, Paris-bred producer whose ascent in the past year has been meteoric and well-deserved.
Her debut EP, Halo, was released via enthralling Berlin imprint Creamcake, which established her dark aesthetic with chilling vocals, metallic chain samples, and driving drum arrangements. The single “doom” was released at the end of 2016 and cemented her take on club music. With overdriven, distorted kicks, thrashing percussion, and icy vocals, the tune has been played by countless DJs in the past year. coucou chloe has also made a name for herself as a DJ, with club appearances and mixes on her NTS radio show that cover everything from hardcore to dubstep to hip hop.
She forms one half of Y1640 with Sega Bodega, and is also part of NUXXE, the collective and label through which she released her Erika Jane EP this past year. The EP sees her explore her interests as a vocalist further, and producers Sega Bodega and Kablam make appearances on the release. She collaborated with Russian producers WWWINGS on track “Sappy”, which features a compelling, distorted vocal cut from Big Narstie. coucou chloe deservedly counts the likes of Björk and Rihanna as fans.
